[01] Documentary Films

Documentary
& Narrative Films

For broadcasters, brands and institutions that need a real story told on location - documentaries, expedition films and series shot wherever the story actually happens.

[02] Why documentary

When the story has to be filmed where it happens

A documentary cannot be built on a soundstage - it has to follow the story to wherever that story is, which is often somewhere hard to reach and harder to film in. We produce feature and short documentaries, expedition films and long-form series, with crews experienced in working in difficult terrain and challenging conditions, from Arctic expeditions to remote industrial sites. That means planning around weather, logistics and permits as carefully as we plan the shoot itself, and running a small, self-sufficient crew that can carry its own equipment and keep filming when the conditions are not cooperating. The result is a film with the credibility of having actually been there, not staged to look like it.

[05] Process

From development to delivery, in four steps

[01]

Research and development

We research the story, identify contributors and locations, and plan logistics and permits for any remote or difficult-access shoot before a camera is booked.

[02]

Filming on location

A small, self-sufficient crew films on location, adapting the shoot plan to weather, access and the story as it develops in the field.

[03]

Edit and story structure

We build the film in the edit from hours of footage and interviews, sharing a structured cut for review before locking the story.

[04]

Grade, mix and delivery

We grade, mix and finish the locked edit, then deliver broadcast and platform masters along with any versions your distribution plan requires.

[07] FAQ

Documentary films - questions we get asked

We offer a research and development phase to identify contributors, locations and the strongest angle on the story before committing to a full production budget. This reduces risk on longer or more expensive documentary and expedition projects, and can inform funding or commissioning conversations.

We deliver broadcast masters and platform-ready versions to the specification your distributor or platform requires, including loudness normalisation, subtitle files and any territory-specific versioning. We confirm delivery requirements early so the edit and grade are built around them from the start.

Our crews have worked in demanding conditions including Arctic expeditions and remote industrial sites, running small, self-sufficient teams that can carry their own equipment. We plan logistics, permits and contingency time around weather and access before a shoot is scheduled.

Timelines vary widely by scope. A short documentary typically takes 6-10 weeks from research to final delivery, while a feature-length documentary or a multi-episode series can take several months, largely driven by access, travel logistics and how much footage needs to be structured in the edit.

Pricing depends heavily on scope, locations and length. As a guide, a short documentary of 10-20 minutes typically runs EUR 8,000-20,000, while a feature-length documentary or a multi-location expedition film runs from EUR 30,000 upwards depending on access, travel and shoot days.
